There are many free photo album programs available on the web offering a wide range of options to diplay you photos, I use JAlbum. But how do you get them to work on your site. There are a few choices; you could add a link to the site that you uploaded your album to and open it in a new window. You could insert an inline-frame within one of your pages and insert the link there so the album will show on the page. (This has one draw back though, depending on the type of album you create you may not be able to show the entire album without up/down and side scroll, or some of the functions may not work, such as key board control). Or you can publish the album directly to your site, you can see an example of mine here. http://www.marseillesyouthsports.com/albums/index.html
You will notice that the albums first page is named index, this is the default name for the first page of the album (even though you may name the album something else), leave it other wise the album will not work as intended.
To publish the album to your site you will need to add a folder to your public_html folder in your Control Panel, name it something logical, albums, photos, slideshow anything but images (there is already a folder with that name there and it will confuse things).
To import your album you would need to first create the album following the directions of the supplier of the program you are using. Then once you have created it you will need to publish it, most programs will by default have you create an account with them to publish to, this is fine... do so. But when you are ready to publish look for the publish option in the menu bar (JAlbum is tools, publish/manage) select add (or add account) you will then add your site info to the publish box. You will need to enter your site name (http://www.yoursite.com) You will also have to enter your user name and password from your VodaHost welcome email, and the publish to location will be public_html/album (if you named the folder "album", change to your folder name other wise).
Then you will link to this album as you would any other page you created in BlueVoda. First your site URL/ then the folder/ then index.html
As http://www.yoursite.com/folder/index.html (it is an html)
NOTE: as mentioned earlier the first page of your album will be named index by default, if you do not publish this to a folder inside your public_html folder it will over write your homepage on your web site. If this happens do not panic, simply republish your home page and republish your album to the correct folder.
Good luck
