    Autoresponder with FMP

I have a simple form set up for people to subscribe to my site. It is working and sends a notification to a email address I have set up and also stores the data in the Data Storage section as I need.

The only issue is I don't know how to set the Notification Template within FMP to be coming from the email address the person enters in the email field. I have set up an autorepsonder to send out a simple response to the subscription, but at the moment it is going back to the same email the notification goes to (the only way I got the form to work was by putting the same email address in the From field as the To field when setting up the notification template)

So what do I need to do to ensure that once the form is submitted, then it shows as being from the email they enter?

    No takers huh?

All I am basically looking to do is...

Set up the notification in FMP so that the 'from' field is the email address the person enters in the box. ??

    Someone?

      WOW

so you want someone to open their inbox..see a notification email..FROM themselves..TO themselves using something other than their default email client??? Sounds a little PHISHY to me.
But notification template is for you to be notified that a user has registered.
when a user puts in their email and stuff and submits... a notification email is sent to YOU(address other than one submitted)FROM their email typed into form.

the autoresponder template is used to send the person registering a copy of the values they submitted into the form TO the email address they typed in FROM you

coproccessing forms or dual autoresponders to flip-flop the information sort of like mirroring.. i dunno...

you got me thinking hard on this. hehehe

        Just to clarify

I have a registration form on my site and when somone completes it i want.

        1. Me to get a notification of the subscription in specific email account (set up and working)

        2. Their data to be stored in FMP (set up and working)

        3. An autoresponse to be sent to the person that registered (Thank you for registering...blah blah blah....)
(I have the basic autoresponder but it isn't recognising the email address that is entered as being the one to respond to)

I'm sure the problem is in the notification set up it FMP. If it helps...

        The form is

When I test it with my personal email, I get the notification email in subscribe@myworldspanish.com as I have set it up. But it says it has come 'from' subscribe@myworldspanish.com as well, so the autoresponder sends another email to subscribe@myworldspanish.com confirming the subscription, rather than to my personal email address I tested it with.

          OH Ok!

It took me a double take when I did this for my registration too.

For your form to do all this, you will need:

          1. Email Log Template
          2. Email Notification Template
          3. Email Autoresponder Template

Create an email address in your cPanel mail accounts for FMP's autoresponder template to use...the autoresponder in our cPanel says we need to have a matching email account or else the message gets handled by the autoresponder then discarded...this applies to this situation.

FMP's autoresponder needs an email address too, but if that email adress already has an autoresponder set to it that is not properly set to be included in this process then it will be problematic....

I chose to decide with two options.. A)set the FROM in FMP autoresp. temp. to a new email address...called member-notify@yourdomain no-reply @ yourdomain.com or for example, I did this:
          ---------------------------------------------------------------------
          Email template

          Email preset Autoresponder
          Template name * auto_newregister
          To * [re_Email]
From memberservices @ yourdomain.com (DO NOT REPLY)
          Subject
          Attachments
          Format Plain text HTML
Body Thank you, [rw_First_Name1], for interest in becoming one of our newest members in the Graphxntrix.com community!

            Thanks a lot Robert

I knew I was nearly there. Just needed the autoresponder form from FMP, rather than trying to do it from cPanel. Up and running now, thanks for the help.
