My ABVFP Form is not working when submit is clicked.

    Domain Name Form page: http://www.videoemailchat.com/free_trial.html

    Thank you page: http://www.videoemailchat.com/thankyou.html

I downloaded the ABVFP Form Processor 2.0 and followed the instructions in the tutorial Word document and created a "form" page and "thank you" page as instructed. I created an ABVFP file in the cPanel File Manager under the home/my_username/public_html/ABVFP. I have 2 domains listed under the public_html file plus the ABVFP file.

    1. Should the ABVFP file be under my domain name in the public_html or just under the public_html?

After I published the "form" and "thank_you" pages, I attempted to complete the online form through my website. When I hit the submit button I get an error page rather than it automatically going to the thank you page (see #2).

    2. The URL my form goes to from “submit” is: http://www.videoemailchat.com/ABVFP/dbts_abvfp.php
That shows the generic “The webpage cannot be found” page.

    My settings are:

In Blue Voda on my “form page” under Page Properties should the file extension be an html or a php? I’ve tried both and currently have it as html but it doesn’t seem to make a difference neither works.

On the Form Properties I have:
    a. Action: dbts_abvfp.php
    b. Method: POST
    c. Encoding type: multipart/form-data
    d. Hidden Fields: Name: Formid Value: 2 (which is the number of the form I created in the ABVFP Control Panel.

In Blue Voda on my “thankyou page” under Page Properties I have it as html file.

I typed both the "form" page and the "thank_you" page URL’s into my browser and both loaded without a problem.

    Please help.

      Hi Mike,

Thanks for the response. I tried that previously and it didn't work, but tried it again, published it and it still doesn't work. I noticed that my bvp files are publishing to public_html/videoemailchat. Should I be publishing just to the public_html folder?

Re: My ABVFP Form is not working when submit is clicked.

Since you have installed ABVFP in the MAIN domain (public_html) the form action is wrong: it should be http://www.maindomain.com/ABVFP/dbts_abvfp.php

Now, do this simple trick that will also do the job:
Set the action to be: http://www.videoemailchat.com/dbts_abvfp.php

Copy (depending on the FTP program that you are using, you might simply have to drag and drop, or you might need to download from your site and then upload them again) the two files: dbts_abvfp.php and dbts_config.php from the folder where you installed ABVFP inside your videoemailchat folder.

        and you are done.

Re: My ABVFP Form is not working when submit is clicked.

I did as you said, tried the form again on the web and I still get the same error.

The domain name I registered with VodaHost is lanechase.net. I have not published a website with that URL yet.

          My add-on domain is www.videoemailchat.com

Maybe by seeing how my file structure is you can figure out what is wrong. This is what my File Manager directory looks like:

          /home/username
          +access-logs
          +etc
          +mail
          +public_ftp
          -public_html
+AVBFP (It has the 30 plus files uploaded to it per the tutorial)
          +cgi-bin
+videoemailchat (It is unknown what, if any, files are in this folder because every time I try to open it my browser freezes and I get the “Not Responding” message.)
          +tmp
          -videoemailchat
          dbts_abvfp.php
          dbts_ABVFP_config.php
          -www
+AVVFP (It has the 30 plus files uploaded into it per the tutorial)
          +cgi-bin
+videoemailchat (It is unknown what, if any, files are in this folder because every time I try to open it my browser freezes and I get the “Not Responding” message.)

          Please assist.

            Hi Sue,

i can't really help by guessing. Use my contact form to send me your login details for your CP and i will fix this issue (within 8 hrs, it is rather late Saturday evening here and i have to go offline) Please let me know the URLs of thank you pages and error pages for the two sites, as well as email addresses where you want to recive the mails, for each form.

This may be a silly question but where do I find your contact form?
