php code on a thank you page for a form

in following the tutorial for creating a form and then the thank you letter to go with it, i noticed a difference in the tutorial itself and the information you read that is below the tutorial. in the php code that is listed $mailbody= values submitted from web site form in one place they say to change it, but in the tutorial they don't make mention of it. if i just leave it as it reads now, will i be ok?

I have never found it necessary to change this
part of the php code and all my forms work OK,

Maybe someone else can add more to this but as said
I would not alter this part
