  • changing permissions

i am trying to set the permission to 644 after ftp the files to ABVFP folder. i right click the file, click properties, but nothing happens. almost looks like a pop up blocker is active. i hold down the control key and try again getting the same results. i shut down virus protection program and get the same results. what else should i try to do. is it certain that the files have to be changed to 644? thanks,

    Re: changing permissions

    Hi mrmagoo144

Go to CPanel then File Manager

Find the file you want to chmod
    click on the file name.

on the right you should see a list
and one should say "Change Permissions"

click on it then a box will open

here you can change the permissions.

I have the old cpanel so it may be
slightly differnet in the new version
    hope this helps

      Re: changing permissions

Hi, you can also do it via your FTP in BV by right clicking on the file on the server side & selecting properties.
