    Getting ready...

    But still a few questions.
Site will be a sourcing and consulting business website in 3 languages.
Main page will refer to the different languages. Every language will have about 6 or 7 pages.
I finished the english version and want to get online to check the linking and start some real testing.
For the Flemish (Dutch) and French version I want an "Under Construction" message after one clicks the language button. Any Advise? Maybe downloading a gif file with "Under construction" and linking the language button to this file?
Oh... and I haven't signed up for the domain name yet.
Will do so today of tomorrow. How long does it take to get the go-ahead after subscribing? I intend to pay via Master Card CC.
    Thanks and cheers.

    Re: Getting ready...

after I paid, it took me about 24hrs before I got my passwords and stuff to where I could publish. You can make a normal page and put an under construction gif if you would like. Some consider this a little unprofessional, but it's up to you. You can also just customize your page saying that it's coming soon or something. Just make sure you don't submit your site to dmoz or any other major directories until you're finished with your site. Good luck and have fun.

      Re: Getting ready...

      Thanks a bunch, Alex.
I 'll reconsider the "under construction" file and replace it with a few company lines to explain the delay.
      Greetings from Honkers.

        Re: Getting ready...

I downloaded BV webbuilder 3 weeks ago and am finally ready now to sign up on the 1 year hosting deal.
I think I linked all the pages correctly together but am wondering as it seems that the links are disabled in my browser? So, I'm unable to use my buttons to navigate through my site?
Advise about checking my site before oploading an publishing would be much appreciated.
        Cheers all!

Your links won't work until the pages are published. You'll need to get a VH account before you can fully test that area.

            Thanks General,
I just have signed up for the one year package.
Will wait till the order is fully processed to get my password. Hope that I will not have to do major damage control and many repairs after uploading and publishing the site!

Some help needed here.Sorry for being such a webknownothing but...
I succesfully uploaded my index page. Then when I oploaded a second page I seem to have made an error as I'm not able to view it by clicking the English language button.
Can one of you professionals have a look at it?

              Many thanks in advance.

When I click on it, it opens up. However, it opens up in a new window. I would consider setting the button options to where it opens in _self window so you don't go opening too many browswer windows on viewer's computer.

                Well Done!!

                  Not necessary....

Whenever you use the hyperlink tool, it will automatically default to the preferred setting to merely "change pages" normally.

If you actually see anything in the "Target" box, you can delete it to reset the default, then able to proceed normally.

                  * You only need to enter anything in this area if you wish to specifically establish a method of linking other than the default "page change"....

Thanks Alex, you're ace. I think I fixed that navigation problem by now.
I have one more bug to repair now, but it's maybe a coding glitch in the system. I'll try to formulate it in the post below.

                      Re: Getting ready...

                      Here I go:
Main page addresses viewers in 3 languages. By chosing a language a number of pages are available in that language only.
In my folder on my puter the titles in the buttons are also in that specific language.
Now, I make some corrections say on the french "import info"page and then upload that page to the server.
What happens next is that the button titles of that page change to French BUT it also changes the titles (and the titles only) in the English and Dutch pages of "import info" to French.
                      Weird!
Anyone who can explain this? Is it me or is it a glitch in the system?
(For the moment I "circum-navigate" the problem by using titles that are more or less acceptable in all 3 language sections.)
Your input is more than welcome.
                      Cheers.

As it looks like this might be tricky to resolve I have submitted a support ticket. But still, if someone on this forum has help to offer, please be my guest.
                        Thanks.

Are you clearing your cache when you do this? If you look at it in French, then clear your cache before you go into the page in another language, it may just grab the new language every time. When I viewed your different pages in different languages, it seemed to be working fine. This may be because I dont have all of your pages stored in my browsers cache.

Thanks to the support guys I will probably be able to correct that bug now. Although, will give it a try tomorrow as it's already past midnight here. For those who might run into the same kind of problem: here is what the "technies" proposed as a solution:
                            >
You must create seperate folders in your public_html folder
                            using the file manager:

                            http://www.vodahost.com/DemoDemo/cpanel_xskin/cpanel_xskin_filemanager.htm

Then upload the various language pages into their respective folders
so that your navigation bars do not conflict.

                            Hank
