Linking pages

I've published my site - 6 pages. I have 2 questions.

1. When I type my site name into the browser address bar, I get a "parent directory" rather than the home page of my web site. why?

2. I linked the pages through the navigation bar but the links don't work. Any idea why? I believe that I carefully typed the page names into the navigation bar properties accurately as http://www.mysite.com/pagename

Do you have a vodahosting account?
and what is the exact URL of your home page?

Yes, I have a Vodahost account, signed up about a week ago.

Your home page must be saved and published as index, all lowercase, no spaces and no 'html'
If you do this when you type in your url you should see your site.
