    sub-menu items overlap page verbiage

I would be thrilled if someone could help me with a problem with my sliding menu bar. I have tried every solution I could think of and nothing has worked. The menu is done in php and naturally shows up on all pages but the problem is more obvious when you click the About Us or Privacy Links in the top nav bar

    www.gpteas.com

I had the menu done in the same color as the page, but changed it to this brown so that you could easily see that when the subdomains appear, they are sliding under verbiage on the page. Each time I have made a change, I save and publish. So far, nothing has worked.

Here is what I've tried to date:
1)I right clicked on the green page background and checked "move to back"
2)I right clicked on the html box and checked "move back"
2)I right clicked on the menu template and checked "move to front"
3)I double clicked on the menu template and under Menu Bar Properties, Style I selected a background color. No matter which color I select, the subdomain and page verbiage overlap.
4)I selected an image instead of a color--subdomain and page verbiage still overlap.
    5) Clicking "transparent background" results in the very same effect, as I think it should. It seems like transparent is stuck on!

I would sure appreciate any help.

How did u insert the background? Is it an image or a shape. I just tried it with an image and it moved back just fine.

The menu slides open and back just fine. It is when it slides open that the problem occurs because the verbiage on the page overlaps it.

You asked how I inserted the background. Not sure which background you are referring to.

1)The page template background is a shape. (after you wrote this, I changed it to an image but it made no difference.

2)The background of the menu is designated in Menu Bar Properties, on the Style tab. I have tried both backgrounds and images with the same overlapping results.

3)The menu php file that I had made called for an image and that is what I put there. (It is under the menu and is the same green as the template page)

        Barb,

Instead of posting here, why dont you email me this, as I asked you. Send me your pages and ill see if i can figure out what you did. I just did it here with a background in the page properties and it works fine.

You might also click on your text box and choose Move Back, instead of move to back, and see if that makes any difference. I cant duplicate your error.

The error isnt your menu, its the text box. It needs moved back. Slide your menu down, then click the text box, right click move back. Then move the menu back up where it needs to be and right click move to front.

Or simply click on the html box and select bring to Front. That should do it.

Re: sub-menu items overlap page verbiage

I finally got the menu to work the way it should: http://www.gpteas.com/privacy_policy.php !!!
I clicked on the html block and moved it to the front, then I clicked on it again and clicked "move back" I had to do this twice before the menu would cover the html on the page.

I think that this did not work in the past because when I clicked on any item to move or edit, I then clicked on save without clicking outside the box that was opened to close it first. So the box of html or image or whatever was not closed when it was saved and thus the action didn't get saved. I hope I am explaining myself well enough.

So for now at least, I shouldn't have to bother anyone with this problem, other problems yes, but not this one.
