hyperlink error mssg: http 404 not found

    Hi All

On my "payment options" page I have used a hyperlink in the very first sentence in the text. It reads: Step 1: Contacting Me. Email me, by filling out the Contact Me Form.

Where it says "Contact Me" is a hyperlink to my "Contact Me" page. I have redone the link 3 times, saved the fix every time, and repbulished every time. The hyperlink I'm using is http://www.maupincopywriting.com/contact_me.html. I have also tried clearing my cookies, deleting files, and clearing history for my I.E. browser. I've had some luck doing this in the past.

I still get the following error message:

    The page cannot be found

The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please try the following:
    • If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
    • open the www.maupincopywriting.com home page, and then look for links to the information you want.Click the Back button to try another link.
    • Click Search to look for information on the Internet.

HTTP 404 - File not found
    Internet Explorer

I'm thinking at this point I need to submit a ticket and request a fix. The last time I got this error mssg I had to ask the techie gurus to fix it. Unless someone here knows how to fix this, I guess that's what I'll do. I'll wait to hear your suggestions. Any forum moderators out there w/ a way to fix this?

    Thanks

    Jenny

      Actually...

It is contact_me...you just can't see it because the entire link is underlined...but it is there. I double checked it after reading your suggestion. Thank you for the idea..I wish that had been it.

C'mon forum moderators! I really could use some big time help here..The specific hyperlink I mentioned above is now working, I managed to figure out what I did wrong there, but I have one last hyperlink that is giving me fits!

On my About Me page, I have changed the caption at the bottom left to read:
If this is your first time contacting me, please Click Here and fill out the form.
"Click Here" is the hyperlink... http://www.maupincopywriting.com/contact_me.html - yes there is a _ between "contact" and "me"

      Here's what's weird though...my website still reads:
If this is your first time contacting me, please feel free to use the Contact Me Form.
And the hyperlink is giving me the "http 404 not found" error I listed above when I started this thread.

Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this...obviously I'm making changes in the BV software, saving them, publishing them, and the changes are not taking effect in the actual website iteself. It's as if I've done nothing.

I tried restarting my computer - no good

I cleared cookies, files and history - no good

I double and triple checked my link...it is fine

      gggrrr!!!

      Thanks

Laraz....Good to see you...you've helped many times!!!

I'm sorry...not being dense on purpose...but I don't understand what you are asking me. If you are referring to my first link - yes I fixed the first hyperlink problem that I started this thread with. Now I'm having a problem w/ a second hyperlink that I am unable to fix. See my post just prior to this one.

          Jenny

I'm dashing out for a bit so I may not get back with you right away. Have to go buy a Christmas tree!

            Hi Jenny
When I go to your payment options page and click on the link in the step one in the first paragraph that says contact me, it works. As does the contact me link on that page in the nav buttons on top and the text link at the bottom..

            Did I miss something?

Hope you got a great tree..

This is where I'm having the problem now Laraz...See quote above...the problem is my hyperlink in the red text lower left of the about me page. I've actually changed the wording around and the changes I've made to the text are having no effect on the actual website.

              Jenny

p.s. didn't get the tree...got way-layed at the grocery store! Will have to try again tonight.

                Hi Jenny

When I go to your link this is the url that displays
                http://www.maupincopywriting.com/www.maupincopywriting.com/contact_me.html

try deleting one of the www.maupincopywriting.com
                and it will work ok.
