  • What's the function of "top" inside the "target" menu?

    Hi everyone,
Within the hyperlink properties in BV, you have "Target" which includes SELF, PARENT, BLANK and TOP. WHat's the last one? What does it achieve? I tried it on one of my pages but couldn't see any result.

Also, sometimes, when clicking on some links in other websites, i've noticed that a small window containing the relevant information would open in top left corner WITHIN the same page. How do they achieve that? I thought the "TOP" thing within the target menu was made for that, but still can't figure it out. Thanks for helping.

blank : the link opens in a new window.
top: it open in the upermost window
self: it opens in the same window
parent: it opens in the window that has generated the current window. Only useful for popups. making the link _parent will cause the link to open in the window that has generated the popup.
    Regards Chris.

Hi Chris, Thanks for your quick answer.

So in other words, the TOP option is what I need to use if i want to have a small window open within a same page when i click on a link, or do I get it wrong?

Hi, if you want a small window to open within a page? This would be done with an in line frame (iframe). Some use this for picture galleries. Sample

You need to give the frame a name. Then from the menu, when you link to the content that should appear in the i-frame, type in the "Target" field, the name of the frame.
