Drop Down Menu Bars

Hi my question, is it possible to make the drop down menu bar further spaced out along the page? When i do it, if i only have 4-5 categories they are all scrunched together at the left hand side of the page. I want to be able to space them out acroo the top of the screen. Tried using spaces but wouldn't work?????

you can do this by spacing out the text the the space bar.
