  • How to put 'drop down menu' in front?

    Hi

    I'm redesigning www.make-website.com

I've changed my left-hand side 'folder menu' to a top drop-down menu.

The problem is, on every page (except for the homepage) this menu drops down under the content.

I'm calling up the menu from my header page - so it's not possible to select 'Move to front' on each individual page.

(I tried selecting 'Move to front' on the header page itself)

How can I force the drop menu to be in front?

(I know a text menu would be better - though on this particular website, my user testing has shown that the bounce rate is greatly reduced with a slide or drop down menu instead of a 'drill down' text menu.)

    Many thanks :)

Have you tried it the other way around?

Another words the move the content 'to the back'

      Hi Darren

And there I was thinking I find the easy way out lol!

Thanks Darren - just tried that and it works. It will mean a lot of rearranging on every single page - but I guess I have to do that anyway after taking out my left-hand menu (I currently have a dirty great white space in its place)

Thanks for the quick answer :)

Ack - just realised a drop-down adds 53kb to the page weight. That's hefty. Has been so long since I used one - I changed to the 'folder menu' a good eight months ago.

        Double damn!
