Domain stated twice in url when link is clicked

Hi all,

I have just added some images to my index page and linked the images to another page within the same domain, but when i try it it links to:

https://www.domain.com/www.domain.com/page.html

instead of the correct-

https://www.domain.com/page.html

This is the first time I have come across the problem and I do not understand what the problem could be as I have not done anything differently as fa as I know.

If anybody has any ideas i'd be very grateful if you could point me in the right direction

these are just example urls, obviously

This is because you must also type the "http://" also in your links.Or, remove entirely the www.domain.com and just leave the page name.

In example, you should use either

http://www.domain.com/contact.php

or, simply,

contact.php

urls changed to include http:// and problem solved
