  • Linking Pages together

    Hello

I need help with linking my pages together. I am using BlueVoda website builder to create my website. I am unable to link pages together. I have linked pages using hyper-links and then Published them as .html files but when I type http://www.fixupclothing.com/ in my address bar my index page loads up fine but when I click the clothing page it says that it is not there but I published it!

Can someone help me. What am I doing wrong?

    Re: Linking Pages together

    Make sure of two things:

    1. Publish your pages to the proper folders (e.g. gallery.html should be in a folder name gallery since that's where your link is pointed).

    2. Be sure your pages are properly named and the links are EXACTLY the same as the names. For example, your link to gallery doesn't work because it's looking for a page name Gallery, but the page is actually named gallery.

You are not following standard methods, and are in fact creating separate directories (folders) for each page, essentially a separate 'website' for each page with the duplicated redundancies you are erroneously applying .....

      1. If necessary, re-name, re-save, and re-publish each page using all lower case letters -- no capitalization or spaces.

      2. Publish each page simply by leaving the public_html/ area in the Publish Dialog blank (empty). This will publish the page itself normally to the website which can then be directly hyperlinked together using standard methods.
(By 'creating' separate directories - "folders" - you essentially create a sub-domain, and the first page of any 'website' must be the index page in order to properly present ..... explaining why your structure and links do not work and cannot be supported as shown: www.fixupclothing.com/gallery/gallery.html)

      3. After you properly name, save, and publish your pages, change all the links in your site to reflect this example > www.fixupclothing.com/gallery.html which will take you to the "Gallery" page within the single, "Main" site itself.

It's no wonder why your links aren't working ... once again, refer to the above post for the correct methods to correct your links and pages.

You need to change your incorrect "Contact" links and pages from your current (http://www.fixupclothing.com/Contact/Contact.html) into properly created links and pages that will work (http://www.fixupclothing.com/contact.php).
Any page that has a FORM on it (eMail Form, etc.) must be saved as ".php" as clearly instructed by the Tutorial.

Again .... re-name your pages and hyperlinks using all lower case letters (no capitalization).

You really need to re-review the Tutorials to get a grasp on the basics, and to not rely on individualized help from the Forums contrary to Rules for these 'issues'!
