My web site loads up incorrect front page?

Hope you can help....its been a couple of years since we updated our website...I know...not good enough!!
Any way been uploading some stuff onto site, all going ok, till I tried changing some buttons that were connecting to some dead pages, this is on the index page, which I believed was front page on any web enquiry, but I appear to be wrong!!
Our web page www.compcon.co.uk comes up ok, but its incorrect. When you push home on that web page it takes me to
www.compon.co.uk/index.html where everything reads correct! please any help me to get it all correct would be much appreciated,thanks! ( I cannot even see a compcon.co.uk page in cPanel File Manager v3)!!

Hi,

Please go to your site and hold the ctrl key down then hit f5 and see if this fixes the issue, if not, please open a support ticket so we can take an in depth look!

Hi,

If you used ctrl F5, then the issue was a browser caching issue, when you go to a site, your browser stores it to improve the load speed the next time you visit it. If you update your page, sometimes this causes you to see the old one until the cache is cleared.

Just another 'quick one'..do meta tags still work in trying to get your web pages seen on google?...things on internet seemed to move along at break neck speeds....I just wondered if these help any more..or do I need to pay google??

Meta-tags still work an you should use them to assist in your web page ranking!
