Linking in Preview mode

Hi,I wanted to know is it necessary to publish your website in order for your hyperlinked pages to work for I have tried to link one page to another but it does not work in the preview mode.

preview in browser, view source, copy and paste into notepad, sava as

index.html
or other.html files

correct version: <a href="my computer/c/index.html">My Index Page</a>

i reccomend using HTML, BlueVoda builder is weak due it has no HTML to assist it

ex:view in WYSIWYG mode
ex:view in HTML mode
ex:view in XHTML mode
ex:view in XML/CSS/other
ex:view as HTML/WYSIWYG mode
