    saving a page

After making modifications to a page, I attempted to save it. However, I get a popup error message that says "the save failed". Unfortunately, after closing out the program, it does not default back to the original page... I think the page gets deleted because I can no longer find the file for the page? Can anyone give me some insight? Is the page lost forever?

The save failed is a message that you get when you have more than one BV sessions open at the same file.

Well, that makes me even more confused, because I only had one page open.

Or two files open with the same name in 1 session......

When that happens again, try "saving as" instead of just save...........
        Have fun

The first thing I checked was to see if I had two files open, but the only thing I had open other than BlueVoda was my browser. I tried "saving as" too, but got the same error message. Thanks for the suggestion; does anyone have any other suggestions?

If its happening all the time, I would suggest that you download a fresh copy of BV. you will not lose any existing files.

May I ask what you were trying to save the file as?

Re: BlueVoda will not save a page

I am not sure exactly what causes this problem, but
I have experienced it myself. The way I got around it
was to give the new page a different name. For example,
let's use index. I would save as index2 so I'd be saving
as a new file instead of writing over the original 'index' file. That would work ok. So, then I'd go into explorer
and find the original index file in BV and delete it. Now
when you go back into BV , bring up
the new page 'index2' and save as index. This would
work ok. So, it seemed that BV didn't want to write
over the original file for some reason and I, like you,
was sure that no other instance of the file was open.

I was simply trying to save the modified file under the original file name; in this case, it was the file name "index"

                      Re: saving a page

So this is happening when you open this file named index with your bluevoda website builder ... then you try to save and you cannot ...

I think Bluegrass gives pretty good advice there, try to do what he is saying ...

and David as well ... download and install the latest version, it can be found in my signature here ....

Just be certain you are not mistakenly putting in a capital letter or a period or something in the save file as name. Perhaps somehow or other this may have gotten itself on that line of text that you are "saving as" .....

Thanks LadyEye! I've downloaded the latest version earlier this morning. Now if you could only handhold me through the rest of this process of publishing, I would be in pig heaven!
