First Time Publishing Question

I am getting ready to publish my first site using VodaHost. It is currently active on another host. To publish the site, would I use the following procedure?

1 - Log in to the cPanel and create a folder for the site (public_html/mysite for mysite.com)
2 - Use an FTP program to upload or publish the site to the new folder.
3 - Test the site using the ip domain address and folder name
4 - After verifying, go to the Domain host and update the DNS information.

Please let me know if I have missed anything or have the procedure wrong.

You would use the login info provided to you by voda host for your control panel yes, but unless this is an addon domain you would do your publishing to the public_html directory - no need to create another directory if this is your main domain. You do all of your publishing via the publish tool in the blue voda webbuilder .. you ftp up other elements to your site .. you will need to update the name servers at your present domain name holder and point your domain to voda servers, those two servers are also found in your login info ..
