Saving pages as - well...pages? Like page1,page2, etc?

The reason I brought this up is that I'm putting a new index page in. So, the old one will be re-named and it would be logical to name it
    " page2 ". OK?
    (What a grand scope of thinkin'!.. page1, page2, page3...)

(And save the old index page independently, too, as, say, index_old.)

Ideally the page name and title should describe what the page content is about.

Re: Saving pages as - well...pages? Like page1,page2, etc?

I am very new at this so pardon the simplicity of my question. When naming pages, I've created 2 so far. I have named them index and then about (about me). Should I have named them www.mywebdomain.com/index and www.mywebdomain.com/about ? Also, I started creating the website on one computer and realized that I will be working more on a different one. I tried copying bluevoda onto a USB memory stick. the program comes through but not the pages I created. I have looked at the tutorials but am not understanding it.

Also, I have created a number of tabs on my index page. I plan on copying articles that I have authored to place them on the article tab as sub pages. Can someone be specific how to name them so that when a visitor clicks on the article tab, they will have the opportunity of clicking on one of my article pages? Thank you for this clarification. I am new to this and am getting a bit confused.

their names should be "index" and "about" (or about_me or about_us)(no quotes)
The link URL would be http//:www.yourwebsite.com (for the index page)
and http//:www.yourwebsite.com/about.html for the about page
The index/home page is the only page that does not require the extension after the .com
Create additional pages and name them according to their content (i.e. business) the link URL would then be http://www.yourwebsite.com/business.html

You really should review all of the tutorials. There is a link to the tuts on the bottom left hand side of the BV web builder window.

You will also have to copy the web pages from the C:/My Documents/BlueVoda folder.

          Hi Gabor,

Some wil say it is troublesome but from my own experience it is neat and orderly.

You can have all your finalized web pages in C:\My Document\BlueVoda
Open some other folders as well for your Images, Photos and "OLD Web Pages" to keep your unwanted and old webpage designs seperate from the ones you are going to use. When you have designed 20-30 pages
you can get muddled up between the wanted and unwanted.

CarbonTerry, I am creating a listing website. My "index" home page is www.mysite.com. But I need multiple pages that feature different "cities" per say. So I need www.city.mysite.com. So how do I save this page. And then on that city page I have a link that needs to go to www.city.mysite.com/acc/ . So how do I name this www.city.mysite.com/acc/ page? Thanks a bunch.

The first URL would be www.mysite.com/city.html
Once you are on the city page the URL to the next page would be www.mysite.com/acc.html

There are some other concerns here. I take it that you will have a lot of "cities?
If so, you will need to have a folder inside the public_html folder for each city to prevent overwriting similar files. Each folder/directory would be named for each city. i.e. " denver "
                    www.mysite.com/denver/whatever.html
                    www.mysite.com/losangeles/whatever.html
When you publish files for "denver" the publishing window would have to be:
                    public_html/denver
and of course it would be as so for losangeles:
                    public_html/losangeles
Each city folder can have it's own " index " file and your navigation would be on the new index pages.
Links would be as so for denver:
                    www.mysite.com/denver (for the index page)
www.mysite.com/denver/acc.html (for the "acc" file that deals with denver.)
This is the only way to keep "cities" organized as pages are named the same for each city.
Perhaps another member would have a better idea?
