how to publish pages as .HTM format in bluevoda?

    Hello guys,

I need to publish my home page as HTM format as the flash file has a hyperlink that directs it to first.htm rather than first.html.

So there is no way i can change the flash file as i do not have the FLA file.

Please tell me how to publish the webpages in HTM format rather than HTML.

    PLease help!!!

You do your pages as bvp. When you publish they are rendered on the server as html. While you cant see this in preview mode necessarily, just type in your link as normal. It should work rather its html or htm. Almost everything except microsoft stuff uses html extension.. but either should work. If it doesnt, you could go to cpanel file manager and RENAME the page as htm. Not sure if that would alter the bv files or not.

You could also change the "find the first page" to htm in your Cpanel if you wished.

<smacks david> LOL thats what i said.. Ok.. you could do an htacess redirect from the firstpage.htm to firstpage.html and that should eliminate it.

download your htacess file from that directory, open it with notepad, and if theres anything there just type below it

          redirect http://www.yoursite.com/pagename.htm to http://www.yoursite.com/pagename.html

Then file, save as, and change the extension to ALL FILES and make sure its

          .htaccess

NOTHING in front of the period, reup it and see if that will work.

Karen, you mentioned RENAME the page...............my point was that you dont have to have index.html
You can decide which extension the browser looks for first.

              It isnt that simple..
my website.. starts with a flash intro in which it is directed to first.htm..
i can not change that as its a SWF file. i do not have the FLA file with me. So it has to be directed to first.htm

the initial page is called index.html

              www.opalinefashion.com

i think if u go to the website.. it should explain it. All the other pages are HTML

Yes... Im understanding, but if you do the redirect in the htaccess anytime that page is queired it will direct it to the html version. So.. you type in the first.htm the htaccess file will FORWARD it to the HTML version.

                Try it and see.

LOL.. Yes.. he can do that but every time he/she publishes he/she will still have to go rename it. Using the htaccess will eliminate the need for the rename or the find first.
