changes to posted pages

When I edit a blue voda page off line, keep thye same page name and publish it to blue voda, should that new page not automatically replace the original page? If not, how do I update pages as the site developes?

Yes, publish any changes you make to your pages and they will show up. Sometimes though not immediately or a refresh using 'Ctrl' and F5 is required to clear your cache.
