Publishing 'under construction' page

I'm almost ready to publish my website but would like to have an "under construction" page for about 1 week before I publish finished site. Do I publish the "under construction" page as the index page? Please give instructions and then how I get rid of the "under construction" page when I'm ready to publish real index page and finished site. Thank you!

Yes.
When you publish your website proper, the new index page will simply over-write (replace) the temporary one.
