How Do You Post Public Files on a URL?

Hello,

I would like to be able to post WORD, PowerPoint and Excel documents on my website that users can access. Ideally, I would like them to be updateable by any user, providing they have the software to access the documents.

I have no idea, I repeat, no idea on how to do this. I have posted PDF's on FTP Control Manager so that PDF's can be viewed on a URL, but that is it.

I hope this makes sense. If you know the answer, please explain it like you are talking to a beginner. Or please refer me to a tutorial or manual.

Well you really cant on shared hosting as youd have to give them account access, or actual access to your computer. Neither one is safe, however, you could make a form and have them submit data to you and you edit the files etc.
