Finding API key

Hi, I'm new to WordPress and new to the forum, although I've had a Vodahost website account for nearly 2 years.

I've recently started a WordPress blog through my website account at: www.consciouslifeskills.com/blog

and now find I'm receiving more spam mail, which I want to manage better timewise.

I went to activate Akismet, but cannot find my APL-key, even after having followed what WordPRess documentation said about accessing the dashboard, and even creating another account.

What is it I am doing wrong? Or just plainly not seeing? Help!

I've just installed a Stats plugin, and also looking for my API Key.

I'l report back if I find out how

Solution Found.

You have to register a Wordpress account. This is not the same account as the one Vodahost gave you during the installation.

Goto this address http://wordpress.com/signup/ and register your username. You will then recieve an e-mail that will your log-in details as well as your API key.

Hi Mike, thanks for that I too had been thinking about the API key. Trouble is I have just done that but there was no mention of the API key in the activation email I received. Any other ideas?
