    Editing Wordpress in BV?

I'm thinking of having a wordpress blog. I have the domain name, Added the domain to ad-on domains.
I'm wondering if I'll have any trouble getting blog templates into BV editor? I'm not sure if I'll have to creatr the blog page from scratch or not?

I know that I can use fantisco to upload the Wordpress to the directory. Will this have the tools I need to keep the blog moving along?

Not sure, but I do know this will be a busy blog. Any ideas or answers?

I did read the stickies too...

You cant edit wordpress with bv. bv is not an html editor. bv is an html generator.

You can edit wordpress templates with notepad tho. Wordpress is a standalone program self contained. You sign into it just like you sign in to your storefronts

      Thanks Karen,

      I knew you'd be by soon :)

Will I pick a theme after fantisco? or utilize what given? (referring to template)
      Silly question, but I don't know :(

What in the World have I done?

Thanks for the encouragement Karen! As you know, I like a challenges...

With that in mind, here's what I did:
I pointed my domain name DNS1 and DNS2 to VH.

I've added the domain in, Ad-on domain in the CP... it's there.

When I bring up the page though, which is http://ImaSingleDad.com it shows the root name for my other site. which is BrownBeanMachines.com

What in the world have I done?

                LOL!

I'm truly sorry, I tried to delete the post, but it wouldn't delete. It said that I had to wait before I could make any changes.

I corrected the title name within the wordpress dashboard. I thought I had some files crossed.

Anyway. I got the blog up and running tonight. I'm not sure if I should put it through the scrutiny of "preview my site" or not??

Thanks Karen, BTW... it was pretty simple to throw together.

                  Re: Editing Wordpress in BV?

It is important to remember that different "Themes" require specific versions of WordPress .... and the current version available for a Fantastico! install is 2.7 only!

MANY of the Premium Templates available from VodaHost (or even independent sellers) clearly state only WordPress Installations of versions 2.0 - 2.5 will work with the templates --- either they are not "widget aware" or the sidebars cannot be edited properly despite inserting patch code, which pretty much makes them useless.

Manually installing older versions of WordPress using the newer versions of cPanel ( cP 11, or cP11-Advanced) on VodaHost servers is not as easy as it is supposed to be either, as invariably a few DB Error Messages usually involving the "wp-options" files appear and prevent the loading of any theme .... manual installations of earlier WP versions do not include Default themes to format your DB interfaces.

Be sure you note the WP version each theme requires before you download it for use! It will save you hours of frustration if you are aware of what your intended package requires .....
