You could make a slideshow in power point, convert it to a windows movie file in windows movie maker using the fade out to black transitions and add it to yoru site as a wmv .....

How do you convert a power point file to a movie file in windows movie maker ? I would like to try that method.
Nora
Hi Nora
After you have made your power point presentation, which can includes text and or jpegs, go to file, save as "jpeg file interchange format" - it will them as you if you would like to export every slide in the presentation or only the current slide .... - you click every slide, every slide is then saved as a jpeg image and you import each image into windows movie maker, add your transitions, music, etc. and then under step 3 in windows movie maker, click save to my computer and go on from there, choosing the highest quality.

After I've followed your instructions (and thank you very much!), and created the movie (wahoo!), is there any way to show the movie without the tool/nav bar at the bottom of the movie?
Hi ... sounds like you made a great show .. good for you .. althought there are probably other ways, the easiest and quickest way, if you are happy with the look other than that, would be to apply a shape on your page covering that area in a color to match ... that would work nicely! Are you going to show us, lol ..

Major glitch for me- My navigation would normally open over the previous images (where I've put a movie instead), where it's now hidden behind. I've tried moving the navigation to the front (no change), moving the movie back (again, no change)... I'm stumped

I'm still in the design phase, but by this week's end, I should have all of my work done--- then I'll share!
You could put the video on a smaller pop-up page itself from this page, that is if you page contains other information, you could use a small video player icon with a few words to say "watch show" and link to this smaller page that doesn't have the nav bar in place ... just an idea (sounds like you are using a drop down menu type ?)
We look forward to seeing :)

yes, drop down... while it will improve the site by having a video on it, I think I need to switch gears & just figure out another way to fade in & out on the images...
a) thanks for all feed back
2) sorry for the hijack
c) the suggestion box is open for business, operators are standing by.
lol on the operators, ... you can do some pretty neat picture shows at picturetrails.com
nice effects too ..
You still have the menu problem though, not sure what to say there, sounds like you tried what should work for that ... someone will know of another fix ..
