    Help with slow loading webpages

    Hi guys,

I am very new to website building and I have been given some feedback that it is slow loading my webpages. I have put the photos through PIXresizer to reduce them but it still loads slow.

Does anyone have any suggestions for making it load quicker?

Thanks very much for your time :)

Hi Frog... Large images will cause your site load slower..gif is lighter than jpeg..Maybe a similar colored non textured background will help.. The big image used as a back drop loads a little slow causing the links load after that. On the all and all its not objectionable to me...pretty site... Hope that helps Doug

      Hi Frog

Home page loaded perhaps a little slow but not really enough to put me off. When it did download your other pages loaded really quickly.

Quick enough for me in terms of loading time. You only have two pictures.
        I think you're fine.

Re: Help with slow loading webpages

Hi, on some pages the background images are at over a 1000kb. You need to right click on these images & copy them to your machine.

Use this image in place of your background image, installed via page property's background image.

Now where your central area is will have to be done a bit differently. Place a table on the page & on the insert table box that will appear, from the top set the values to 1,1,0,0,0 Press ok.
Now right click on the table & select properties (4th one up) Click on the image & place the image below in the image field.

Now place this next image below on the page as you would a normal image.

Should be now down to less than 20kb for the lot.

          Good luck.

          Regards Chris.

                Frog,
Perhaps because you have implemented Chris's suggestions, your site is loading and displaying for me very well. Nice clean site! Good luck!

                  Hi Matt,
Loading a lot, lot quicker now. Noticed you used a slightly different center image on some of the pages with the Chinese? text on. (No problem! as the one I put up may not of been the best match) But worth keeping an eye on the naming of the images as it helps with the SE’s finding you. IE: your one is called http://www.painfreeacupuncture.com.au/Web%20Foreground%20Section%20(600%20x%20300).jpg
& will be more SE friendly called something like? http://www. painfreeacupuncture.com.au/acupuncture-symbol.jpg
Will all help with visitors finding you.
It’s a bit a a case of would someone entering the name below as a Google search Web%20Foreground%20Section%20(600%20x%20300).jpg
Where they may enter acupuncture symbol, or something similar.
                  Every bit will help.

                  Good luck.
                  Regards Chris.
