    Published lightbox images

    Hi,
I have a lightbox feature on my website, daveybonar.com . When I click an image to enlarge, the image is HUGE. I have resized my images in 'my pictures' and when I preview the page the image size is fine, but when I publish the page the images are still HUGE! The page on my site is 'fish'. Can someone look at it and tell me what they see? I have tried resizing the images quite a few times and it does'nt seem to be working.

    Thanks,
    Davey

    Hi Davey,

Yes I answered this for you yesterday.

You have to remove the offending pictures from your server and then republish.

You might want to rename your images too.

      Here's one of them... DSC_0130%20(2)7.jpg

Firstly there is a gap in the name hence the % and secondly you need to name your images whatever they are. I.E call them the fish names for example. This all helps your optimisation.

        Re: Published lightbox images

well let me start out by saying that you should have all your pictures to start with the same size and you should have choosen 3 across and one of the sizes available, i think it is 240 x 240. you can choose variable meaning then the pictures do not have to be the same size, but in my opinion that looks ****y. The second thing is when i look at the properties of your picture they look to be saved as an HTML document and they should be saved as a jpeg file. So remeber, save your original picture as a jpeg file and make all your pictures the same size and choose one of the size options that you want to display on the page.
        an example of this is:

would be glad to help you one on one if yo need it. just contact me through my website.

Hi, i'm afraid ditto with the above. You cant have images this physical size & with this amount of kb's. IE: This image http://www.daveybonar.com/DSC_0197.JPG
is 2616kb & should be around 30kb max in total. Have a read through the photo & image links below for some ideas.

          Good luck.
