Too much white space

I have created a web page in Vodahost and right at the bottom of the page I have two jpg pictures. When I preview in any browser, I get a large amount of white space underneath the text box where the pictures are placed, just as if they have slipped down about two inches. It is worse in Internet Explorer, but still obvious in Firefox, in Google Chrome, Safari, and Sea Monkey. Anyone know how I correct this please?
