    background image issues

I am trying to recreate this website http://112.196.2.40/elementalsolutions/using BV, simply, bc I don't have the time or energy to learn all that i need to learn to be effective in wordpress. I am moderatly knowledgeable, but WP is really squirreling up my brain.
anyways, this is where i have gotten so far with the template http://www.escaribbean.com/test.html

HOW do I get the blue of the template to go all the way over? Should I create a background image in photoshop, and go from there? if so, what size?

is it even possible to do what I want with bv?
    help, please?

    Re: background image issues

It is very, very difficult creating a background as you require using Blue Voda .... you basically have to create a "slice" and have that image properly sized so when it tiles it does not look funky.
You will need to create your "look" with the blue stripe and the green background maybe 10 pixels wide and at least 1500 pixels tall -- which is immediately an issue in Blue Voda, as the workpane is only 700 pixels tall (your view). The way to overcome this is to make things half-size in Blue Voda so you can double them before saving the image to use.

This being the case, use a blank page in BV to create your color scheme, but make it half: if you want your blue shape 300 tall, make it 150 on the page. If the top green panel needs to be 200 tall, place your blue image 100 down from the top. Etc.
Then, take a "Print Screen" snapshot of your BV workpane, and paste that into either your photo editor or even Paint, and re-save as a JPG image. Open that JPG image in PixResizer and crop a piece of it to be your background image: crop a piece maybe 10 pixels wide and crop it from the top of the workpane down to 700 or 750 size. Then using PixResizer, change the size of this cropped slice (using Keep Proportions) to 1500 tall and whatever width it comes out to.
Re-Save this image giving it a title that will add to optimization values for the site.

NOW you can use Page Properties to import this image as background, noting that the blue shape is properly twice the size as when created, and will now properly tile (repeat) across the screen with enough page height that when it does tile it does not really show ...

And, if this is simply too much to wrap your head around too, go back to the WP installation you so desire and right-click on the background and save it in a folder you will access to import the same background for your BV page.

Just a little helping hand, Right click and save as, this will download a html page and a folder, in the folder you will get your background slice, it's over 1300pix long so you may have to slice and dice it for shorter and long pages.
insert into page as above post.

Unfortunately right clicking a wordpress page and downloading it will not give you what you want and they are css driven.

Not necessarily true, as many of the older themes are easily saved whereas some of the newer ones rely on composite elements such as a separate Header image, sidebar image, etc. via CSS, as you say. You have to pick and choose ...

        * Also, many of the WP themes are also present as CMS themes (for Joomla) and by searching template sites it is possible to find exactly what you are looking for to save as a single background file.
