    Gallery Load Time

I am attempting to compile a very large photo gallery. I set my page properties to 700X9999 this gave me a lot of space. Then it dawned on me that it may take years to load that many thumbs. Is there an optimal
size for galleries? The images are all in jpeg format and i can add them up to get a total, but would like to know what # of Mb I should not exceed
from that number I can work backwards to limit my page size.

    Re: Gallery Load Time

Well- what I do is create my gifs/pics in the smallest size that still produces a good quality picture. Then I create my page and periodically check it.

I use a free dial up service like :(do a google search for free dial up internet service) and test my pages with that. IF they load decent by dial up then I do not have to worry about load times in DSL or Cable.

Great idea Keith, I was hoping for some mathamatical shortcut but trial and error works for me. I will use a net zero trial program. While I'm at it, I'll check the rest of the site.

      Thanks
