Styles are set with values entered for your "index" page if you have "cloned" the basic page for subsequent layouts.....(or for any page created thereafter: in other words, if you re-created your second page in a different theme, and cloned it for the third page, in essence your index and 2nd+3rd represent two different style sets). That's what is great about having the index page clonable with features and values *******ted consistently - and why to insert change, you must re-establish new style sets.
