    dynamics scare

    hi,
i have submitted a sitemap for my current project,(www.gemporium.co.uk) built in exactly the same way as my learner project (www.gemporium.biz).

i have found "warnings" attached to each url in my google indexed status box.Reading further it says it's because I have dynamic pages??

Reading through the forum, all refs to dynamics involve "?"'s in the url. Mine haven't, they're as short and sweet as I can get.

It also says something about creating an identical static page, making robot.txt to stop them looking at the dynamics etc...??!*??

Can someone please have a look, and give me some advice(idiot proof, please!) it's not finished at all, but I'd like to sort this out before I go further.

This domain has been hosted elsewhere for the last 2 years, and always came up several times on the first page, I don't really want to start from scratch againif at all possible.

    Thanks for looking
    Sharon
    cheers muchly,

    Re: dynamics scare

You would have to be MORE specific about the warnings. Dynamic pages are fine as far as indexing so that by itself isnt the issue. Most likely you have included pages to be indexed that a robots text file has told them NOT to use.. so you then have a conflict. Make sure you take out the pages in your sitemap that you DONT want indexed, or tell the sitemap maker to index only top level pages. Then you wont get these errors. The other issue is this.. when you use or allow the sitemap robot to go into dynamic generated pages you get a ?=session id.. this session id wont be the same on each visit.. so for instance if you are using SOHO etc or any other php cart.. you make static OUTER pages for all of your products etc and then you wont have issues with SESSION ID's.

The other thing you can do is edit your sitemap and REMOVE all ?=SessionId. You can remove them all at once with a text editor using the find and replace function

      Hi Karen
that's pretty much all it said on google, you know how nondetailed they are...it just says they've identified my pages as dynamic, which "may" cause problems, and "may" be down to...a whole list of things.
It mention something about php being dynamic? could it be the php part when bv publishes? only it hasn't come up with that on the other site, and I built it the same...
As far as I know I haven't written any robot.txt yet, to include/exclude given pages, all I did do was make a sitemap and gave it to google.
I only have 9 pages, all of which will need indexing, but I really can't see what might be dynamic?? is it the tables? The pages are so basic.

Can I give you any more details about the pages to help?

      many thanks,
      Sharon

Ok.. Im following you now.. When you do the BV single menu.. header etc includes.. you actually make these individual pages to be included. And it really isnt proper html.. but it works. As long as its just warnings.. and not errors you should be ok.

          hI,
          THAT'S GREAT NEWS THANKS!
The worry is that they haven't indexed ANY of the pages, or will they just take their time? I did have great search results before moving here, even though it was just a windowshopping site ie no sales. Hope it won't take too long to get back up there...

          thanks, Sharon
