Google cameo

I have an article on my site that started to show on google. If you typed in some of the keywords it showed up, only on the 3rd page of google, but it's was a start, and my site had been online less than 1 month so I was pleasantly suprised it showed at all.

However now it doesn't show anywhere. I still don't fully understand how google ranks 1 page over another and how often changes occur, but it seemed strange it would show for a few days and then dissappear again.

I've been updating my site along the way, could there have been something I have done to affect it, even though I haven't changed anything about that particular page?

That is typical of Google with new sites. Things will show up then disappear. The longer you're around, the less that happens and the more importance you'll be given as an authority.

And, no matter how long you're around on the net - don't expect to ever understand Google - they like it that way.

It's a strange beast Google. It was an article on quite a specific thing and only showing on the 3rd page of the google results, but it made a big difference to my site traffic.
