RSS button

I have seen at the bottom of some sites an orange button with RSS on it. When you click on this it looks like a sitemap. Is it just another type of sitemap? Or is it something else to keep the SEs happy?

Just wondering if it's something I should add, or if my existing XML sitemap covers those bases.
