Have a website, can I rename my pages using a dash?

I already have a website and like the idea of naming pages with words seperated by a dash. If I do, I will have duplicate pages with the same content. If I delete my old pages, I will mess up my se rankings. Siggestions? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

How long have your pages been up? Are they all indexed by the se's? If so, I would leave them alone and do the optimizing on the pages. If it's all brand new - go ahead and change the pages and delete the others. If it's somewhere in between and you really feel the need to do the name changes, go ahead - then do a redirect from each of the old names without the dashes to the new with.
