sitemap for my add-on domain

Hi,

I am not able to create a sitemap for my add-on domain...
My main domain is camthief.com , and this works fine, but when I try to create a site map for the add-on domain http://muaythai.me , nothing happens when I click the 'start crawler' button.

I have entered the URL correctly, and the site itself is working find, the 'crawler' just won't start.

I put in a support ticket for this already, but they referred me to the forums as a 'design issue'???

I got the same non-result when I tried to crawl your .me site.......it may have something to do with the .me part ?¿

Sure there is, but I assume you're not all cracked up on HTML, are you?

Go to www.xml-sitemaps.com to have one automatically generated for you -- you can select different formats and be assured of complete accuracy and details.

You may wish to first go via your cPanel to clean up the directory, to remove conflicting files and to delete any "orphaned" pages that may present a 'logical challenge' to the generators: this will also be easier on the bots that report values to the SE Central Hub, and be easier on you when you need to re-generate sitemaps after updates to the site.

Ok, I went to the site you mentionned and generated a sitemap (funny that, I'm sure I had tried from that website 2 days ago, and it didn't work...)

Only one thing:
Under the 'XML Validation results' , I get this message:

And another question:

I used rss2html to put an rss news feed on my index page... so what I did was that I renamed the rss2html.php file to 'index', and this now directs to my homepage titled 'sample-template'
Could this be what is preventing BlueVoda from generating sitemaps for this site? And, if so, will this also present a problem in terms of SEO.

I've read that having pages freshly updated was good for SEO, which is why I put an rss feed on the homepage (and on the FAQ page also), but which pages will the search engine bots crawl? And will they 'read' the content of the rss feed?

The method I used was a bit convoluted, but it's the only one that worked for me given I wanted the feed on the homepage...
I could have put it in an iframe, but again, I read this was a problem asthe search engine bots were not able to see the contents of iframes...

I'm new to all this, so I don't really know what I'm doing at the moment ; just trying to learn as I go...

A properly configured add-on domain is in the eyes of Search Engines and bots an individual site, and must likewise be compoliant in all regards. A separate sitemap is required for each website, and although a tool exists in BV to do this for you, it is best to manaully create one and to process properly to get the results you seek.
Sitemaps can be created in various formats at www.xml-sitemaps.com but they will not prepare RSS link validations, so the error message you found you can ignore: it is the mapping itself that you need be concerned with, as that is what Google and the others will follow as the evaluate your site.

In addition to a sitemap, you should have a bot file also for each site, which will instruct the bots and spiders to crawl all, some, or none of the pages you indicate in this file.

Beginning with the index page of a site, everything will be read (providing the index page has no broken links and there is a "readable" navigation system in place --- which makes a bot file all the more important if using a dynamic link system).

If you apply the Perfect Page Model to every site build, have all the proper files and "helps" in place, then it is simply a matter of time before your site is properly evaluated, cached, and "ranked" ..... which is why a prudent practice of submitting a prepared (finished, not incomplete) site to the SE's manually and within a program is an option for you to spur significant interaction without having to wait.


Having dynamic content and elements on a website do in fact create a more favorable evaluation by the Search Engines and their systems, but only if a site is fully compliant according to build standards and the overall logistical relevances that are expected.
