Google Streetview appears to risk damaging the Google brand. In the UK, residents of several areas have raised complaints. In one particular case the Streetview car filming a village was surrounded by locals who drove it out of town.

Given that much of Google's performance can be attributed to the way it is seen as a trusted brand, the risks posed by Streetview seem disproportionate to any revenue generating opportunity.
