Did you run a DNS Flush yet? (Different than cleaning browser cache).
1. Shut down all browsers and other programs
2. Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Prompt Command
3. Enter ipconfig/flushdns and hit Enter
4. Repeat
5. Shut system down, unplug modem/connection for at least 1 full minute.
6. Restart system
If that does not work, restore your computer to a time when all was functioning properly....delete programs that did not fuction properly before restoring, and then re-install them: if you need to download once again, use IDM, as it will catch all elements of a file (even Zipped files) when other means may not.
If this does not help, then you may need outside help (Geek Squad?).
Thank you....I mean REALLY, I do thank you....I swear I was actually starting to think I was in fact sliding downhill faster than my mind and body was registering!
LOLOLOL
I think it's time I simply dig a cave and disengage......
Is there any other way? Apparently, I can't go back to a restore point. I don't really know why, unless CClean or RegistryFix deleted some of those files.
Alright, here is something nuts. If I use the Program capability program, it will open, but only through that program. I hit save the settings, but it will still not open without using the capability program. If I save a .bvp file, it will not open directly. I have to open Bluevoda using the capability program, then open within Bluevoda. Does that help figure out the program?
This is really interesting to me as I have exactly the same problem, and after uninstalling and reinstalling, running registry software etc only way to open bluevoda is using compatability steps. Isbem1511 I would love to know how you get on and how you solved the problem if you have. I do agree with Vodahost next step I need to do now is to take computer to someone professional to fix whatever problem is
Have you looked at your Event logs on your PC yet to see what is causing it to fail? That would be a good place to start. If you are logged on as an administrator account, then go to:
Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>Administrative Tools..
...then, when the window opens up, click on Event Viewer.
-On the right, you will seel a list of events...double click on the warnings and errors to see their descriptions. It's possible that the cause of your problems it due to a ".dll" file error, corruption, or missing, or something..but it might be something simply related to BV itself. Never hurts to find out.
Links in the descriptions will open up more info in the Help and Support.
This is probably happening because your system files are being replaced by incorrect versions OR you have TONS of adware, malware, trojans, etc. or just alot of invalid registry entries. This happened to me recently with 3 programs. After cleaning my disks, defragging, and running security scans...oh, I even ran....at the command prompt: sfc
to have windows check all the system files. It help me find the problem files, but in the end I used the program below to knock EVERYTHING back into place.....
download Advanced Windows Care Personal from Cnet.com...it's free..and run it. It did not dissapoint me at all. It's pretty much a one click wonder and it simple to understand.
I have the same problem on my laptop (Windows XP Media Center Edition)....
About three weeks ago BV wouldn't launch
I did every thing I could find....
CCleaner
Regedit
Regfix
3 different virus scans
3 different Registry scans
Uninstall/Reinstall (with CCleaner and regedit) About 20 times
and couldnt get it to launch
Finally I did a system restore before the problem started (By the way for all looking... you lose no information and it is completely reversible) and It worked!
Until yesterday when it stopped working AGAIN!
I went to BV in the start menu...
right clicked on the program
went to properties
clicked on the Compatibility tab on the top
clicked the "Learn more about program compatibility"
clicked the "Start the Program Compatibility Wizard" (which launches the Compatibility Wizard) clicked next clicked the radio button "I want to choose from a list of programs"
clicked nexthighlighted Blue Voda from clicked next
clicked the radio button "Do not apply a compatibility mode"
clicked next
clicked next
and it launches
This is the only way I can get it to launch
Does anyone know what is causing this...
Or more importantly how to fix it?
