Help and advice please, dear friends!

    Hi all!

Along with caring for 30 baby beardeds (yes, sold 7 so far yippee!), I've now bought a new PC. This one has come with Vista!

Not switched it on so far, but want to know in advance what issues I'm going to have, and how to avoid them! I'm keeping my old XP PC going alongside just in case, but as this is going slow to stop, want really to move BV and all my website files over to the new machine.

Tip, clues, hints and solutions to the problems I'm going to come across would be very very useful!

    Thanks in advance!

I have Vista and hmm.. I dont really like it.. Its slow.. Doesnt like loading photos.. freezes alot.. erm.. Internet freezes a fair amount too.. When I first got it.. I tried to install Zone Alarm and it kept crashing my laptop. I was going to install Vista on my other computer.. But.... Na.. One is enough lol. Other than that.. Its not bad.

The problems I heard of were slow loading, not installing certain things, blah de blah.....long as bluevoda is o.k that's the main thing : )

Fired up the new PC last night - and it froze on me after a while when I tried to network old and new! Funny then to read the posts!

Couldn't get it to talk to my hub and the WEP key didn't work - but I got on the www anyway! Looks like I might have snuck on using a neighbour's unsecured broadband!

Still - it looks pretty - has nice blue lights on it! LOL

Well I've got all my BV stuff working on the new PC, so that's a bonus, but the easy transfer cable I bought doesn't live up to it's name! It does freeze, like you said, and I certainly don't think it's a lot faster than my old faithful PC which I replaced!

I bought a helpful little gadget which shares screen, keyboard and mouse between both PCs, so I'm using them both! Seems the best option!

Also having a prob with Outlook - download emails onto the new machine, then fire up the old one and download emails onto that (two accounts I haven't put on the new one as they attract 98% spam). What's odd is that I get emails downloaded on the old one which never appear on the new one - and those are from the accounts I installed on the new one. Or sometimes they do arrive on the new one, but a day late! I can't figure that one out.
