    very old computer

HI. all and Happy New Year!

I have a question. I am using Blue Voda to build my website. I understand that all my pages are saved to my harddrive, and this is seemingly consuming lots of space. Is their a way I may work on my pages, with bluevoda by saving to a private file on the hosting, that others may not be able to view, instead of saving it to my hard drive, and publishing from their, and still be able to work on them.

If so, would you be able to point me in the right direction on what steps need to be taken to do so.

*( As I want to delete these files from my hard drive to free space)

Thankyou very much if someone may be able to help me.

If your really want to get the files off your hard drive, buy a usb external drive. They are cheap now. It's wise to use one to back up your site anyway; I back up to two different drives. David is right, though. Taking your files off your hard drive will make far more work than it's worth--you'd have to change the path to each file, no matter how small, when you went to republish anything.

Easiest way to do this is to back up to a usb flash drive.. or get a usb to usb port cable and copy files over to the locations on the new computer.

Yes.. thats what I meant or thought i said LOCATIONS...but thank you for running around behind me to clarify.

Actually.. if he buys a computer with Vista.. which is VERY likely .. it has a built in utility that does this..almost the minute you plug in the USB cord, or a flash drive.. it transfers the files and suggests the SAME locations on the new computer and does MOST of the work for you with a few clicks.

What do you mean, change the path for each one?

You dont change the path. If your files are in for example, C:user/documents/bv/webpage files then you put them in the same place on the new computer so that blue voda finds them right off.
