Can Anyone Recommend a Reliable Browser?

Ok. I got really miffed with IE as I kept getting errors that just chucked me out of everything. I sacked it.

Got myself Netscape which was fine until I upgraded to 8.1. Now I'm getting debug errors and 'cannot find site errors' much of the time. Most times it corrects after I've closed and reopened but not always. Sometimes I have to reboot the pc and router.

Has anyone got any advice or experience with Firefox or any other browser that they can recommend I try? Or is it a case of 'they all have their problems'?

I've heard IE 7 is good, you can download it at microsofts site (I think its still in beta). I personally use FF, but I wouldn't recommend netscape, they are WAY behind the times, they don't support many features that other browsers do.

Thanks Watdaflip. After IE, Netscape was lovely and it had tabbed browsing which was cool. But since the update it's just getting worse.

I'm going to try the two that Race mentioned and see where I go from there, but I might download FF too then I can pick and choose depending on what I'm doing.

I've heard IE 7 is good, you can download it at microsofts site (I think its still in beta).

IE 7 is very cool, but it's still way too buggy to be used as an everyday browser. Once they have the kinks worked out, though, it's gonna be awesome.

I use IE the most, cuz it's what most of the people surfing use - but also use firefox (which has GREAT tools) and netscape - cuz they come in 2nd and 3rd. Unfortunately, I don't pick based on what I like the best - but want to see what my customers see most of the time.

Unfortunately, I can't see things like mac users do - so have a friend who always checks my sites on his mac.

Slim Browser and Maxthon are both IE based, so you still see things the way your users would with IE, but you have the advantages of tabbed browsing and fewer "issues". IE 6 is a dinosaur.

I downloaded the Netscape and had nothing but problems, errors, and not responding. I deleted the Netscape, couldn't delete the McAfee, it wouldn't let me, so I had to delete the Spyware that I had, cleaned out my registry with the Registry Mechanic and things are looking up. The McAfee alsos checks for errors, waste files and fixes them.

I still use the IE though. It's not as fast, but then I think my computer may be outdated too. I have an HP Windows XP. But I got it for free from my stepson, so I can't complain!
