Change existing "Capcha" in Forum for a better one?

Is it possible to substiute another, more effective, Capcha for the pretty much useless one that already exists in the Forum?

If so, how do I do it?

Please bear in mind that I'm new to all this and would appreciate a "step-by-step idiot's guide" if that is possible.

    Many thanks

I'm not sure but maybe a search on phpbb.com or hotscripts.com will turn up an alternative one for you. They would come with full installation instructions. If you are having trouble with spammers then you may also want to check out the phpbb anti spam questions hack whilst you are on their site. I use vBulletin boards so can't offer any more than that. Hope it helps a little or at least points you in a direction where you can find more help. Good luck.

Thanks Amanda, I'll have a look at that.
