New version of phpbb2

Hi all -

Apparently there is a new version of phpbb2 - it recommends downloading the new version - the version in Fantastico is 2.0.20, and latest is 2.0.21.

Will I need to completely remove my installation from fantastico and download the new full version from the phpbb2 website - or download their patch and run it?

My question is the very same as the person above. My second question is do I have to use Phpbb2 or can I use another messageboard and if so how would I go about installing it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Emerald
if you installed through cpanel Fantastico the wait for the update link to appear to install upgrade.
To install a different forum, create a database in cpanel, upload the forum folder ( making sure all folders and file have been transferred ) follow instrutions supplied with the forum to link to it. this is usually a install page . you will then be asked to fill out a form for the information for your database. once you have installed and up and running go to ftp manager and delete the install page from the server.

The changes are very minor and not even worth the hassle of upgrading.
