A Pacer, wow, went through Death Valley in one of those. 120F about 48C and no A/C. Freezing at night. That car did hold its own.

Drove one of these for a bit, they raced good, rolled too. Shifter was on the dash, no seatbelts, sliding windows and a 1300cc engine. Ugly little car. Renault 4.
