Hey folks. Just thought I'd let you know I'm living on my nerves this week. I'm arranging a 50th birthday party for my husband (he's sooooooo much older than me! Well, I like to think so anyway! Hee hee). It's next saturday, and so far he doesn't know a thing about it!

There are about 65 people coming to a buffet and disco at a pub about 15mins away from us. Last night was the first big step when a friend casually texted us to ask if we'd like to go out for a pub meal to celebrate her husband's birthday that night (yes, it really is his birthday too!). My dear hubby said 'that's sounds a great idea! Let's go!' So now we've got the excuse to get him out of the house!

Michael (our son) is all prepared - he's going to storm out to the neighbours to 'see his friend' in the early evening, and they'll be taking him to the pub so he gets there before us. The plan is everyone will be waiting in the function room to jump out and shout 'Happy Birthday' when he arrives!

We've just got to get an excuse to sneak out to decorate in the day - his grown up daughter has brought lots of decorations!

I'm just hoping no one will give it away! I'll let you know how we succeed!

My husband is a technophob, so no risk of him finding out that way! He has to use my email account as he can never remember his!

He tried to order something on line last week, and after much shouting and swearing demanded I came up to look as there was something wrong with the program.

He said it wouldn't let him enter his password! I asked him what it was, and he told me a six letter word. I added two digits to it, and hey presto, everything worked. He stared on, wondering what I had done. I meekly pointed to the small print beside the box requesting a password which stated '8 characters or more'! Hee hee.

I would like to think I am organized, but nowadays it seems it more like A.D.D. or something..... I have gotten myself into soooo many different projects and things that I am walking around feeling stressed out all the time, especially when upon careful examination, I don't have more than 20% finished!

I am so "old-school" that it is a constraint: I want to do 110% all the time, be so far above reproach that I can actually be an example, and continue to race ahead of the pack. It would be so much easier to cut corners like everyone else, or to flub my way ahead, but I can't do it. And to make matters worse, the more I try to "simplify" things, the more details I notice that I feel compelled to polish, thus the A.D.D.feelings..... I never felt this 2 years ago, and now it's really bugging me. Probably why I enjoy taking so many breaks (along with the "dating" aspect of them).

Oh well.....maybe someday I'll grow up and learn the fine art of focusing on priorities?

lol vasilli ... you say it all yourself ... yeah it may be taking you the time to do things, but you want them done to perfection ... I think you are realizing now that you can take your time to do things, you don't have to take the easy route and you are getting more satisfaction from perfection than haste ... only a good thing ... providing nothing is suffering in the other direction ..... and with keeping in mind all your projects, they will never be done, for if they were, you would be finding more .... gotta like it!! Nice to see that you still DO take trips amongst all of this, if you did not, then you would have to worry about yourself!!

Your're having fun, getting the job done, to perfection!! It's great!!

Hope you're all okay and working hard! Got a joke for y'all!

Two whales, a male and a female, were swimming side by side in the Ocean. Suddenly, the male whale spots a ship in the distance. He recognizes it as the whaling ship that killed his father. Filled with anger, he says to his female companion,
"That's the ship that killed my father! Let's swim closer!" When they were close enough, the male said, "Why don't we swim under the ship and blow air through our blow holes and break the ship into a millionpieces? That will be sweet revenge." And the female agreed to this. So they each took a deep breath of air, swam under the ship, and blew enormous amounts of air under the ship. The ship flew into the air and crashed back to the sea and broke into a million pieces. The pair of whales started to swim off when they realized that the sailors were not dead, but floating clinging to pieces of wood in the ocean.The male whale was furious and said to the female whale,
"They're still alive, but I've got another idea. Let's swim around and gulp up all the sailors!" That's when the female stopped swimming, looked at the male and said,
"Oh no... I agreed to the blow job but I'm not swallowing the Seamen."
