      RUTH!,

Kaizen system, suitable for initiating TQM, was developed and implemented in a large company in India, named Godrej, for over two years. Statistical analysis of accumulated data was done to identify predictor variables and determine their optimal levels. While doing this, a unique method was evolved. It marries analytical hierarchy processes with Taguchi methods to overcome limited availability of predictor variable combinations. The method has general applicability in social sciences.
kaizen philosophy and its application to manufacturing. The kaizen strategy is based on the process of gradual change bringing improvements to all area of management and production. It is a people based system with standardisation being an essential feature. Describes a kaizen workshop held in the UK by the Kaizen Institute of Europe, with comments from the participants. Concludes with a brief history of the Kaizen Institute of Europe [KIE].
