very important person which almost
went unnoticed last week.


Larry LaPrise,
the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey",
died peacefully at the age of 93.

The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin.

They put his left leg in. ...


And then the trouble started.

Funny to see this post.. I used to work with Larry LaPrise's son, and he said they are STILL making a mint in royalties on that song after all these years, whenever it is used on TV, or movies.. Imagine that!

And, no worries about insensitivities.. He is the one who first told me that joke.

I was sort of amazed at meeting him. I mean, I never really thought of anyone actually writing a song like that. He said his dad was working in a band at a resort in the Catskills, and it was a thing they wrote up for the nightly shows for the vacationing families..

That is cool and I know what you mean. I had a friend in my home town that I hung out with helping him with his godson for a bit, he was the coach at the high school..later years found out that he is Harry Chapins son...lol..found that out one day when we were talking about his godson and how he lied...lol..ayup! my foot fit nicely in my mouth-room enough for the other one too!- I said ya he did tell some whoppers, he told me that you were harry's son...he said ..well that one time he told the truth!..lol...I felt like an idiot...good thing thats a normal feeling!...lol
