Sure you don't want the ants? They are delicious, especially fried in their own oil, they get so crunchy and have a slightly peanut taste. You can munch on the whole or just eat the bigger body.

Perhaps I would accompany them with Cardamom Tea.

Of course I would eat them and have many times. I do prefer the larvae though.

Cardamom tea is very fruity and flavorful and is used to improve digestion.

                Re: Party in the Kitchen

Well Bill you are the first "bug eating person" I know. I see why you drink the cardamom tea afterwards. (to digest)

I think if I were lost in the woods, I would starve, perhaps I could get used to eating leaves.

I used to run away from home when anything different or smelly was being cooked. Certain seasons on the farm had me running too.

You and Holly sure could cook up some mean stuff in the kitchen, she likes different things as well, she eats snails......not in a tidy way either, one flipped on to my plate when she was doing whatever she was doing to eat it.......talk about loosing your appetite....have one of those nasty suckers land on your plate.......

                Definately an "acquired taste"

Bill: Before I try your Escargot with pepper, garlic and butter and parsley, let me ask you....does any of your tea have alcohol in them? The last time I had Escargot I had a few to many glasses of wine....but I gotta admit, they tasted pretty darn good. Not sure I would try them without being a little tipsy first. lol

Bill: Do you have any herbal tea that would be good for a person who likes natural organic, live food? thinking of a Christmas present for someone dear to me.

                              Re: Party in the Kitchen

Escargot is often cooked with Beaujolais red wine. I would have them with a Pinot Noir. one glass, although its a shame to open a bottle and let it go to waste.

Tea and alcohol are unusual, although I have heard of brews with wine or rum and would imagine that on a cold night a hot mug spiced with rum would warm the body.

The only certified "Organic" teas I have are from China, see here. The Sweet Green is very popular and the longer you steep it the sweeter it gets.

Loose leaf teas are generally speaking very healthy (nothing added to preserve them as tea ages slowly and can last 2 years or more). Check out the gifts section especially the wooden caddies and the collections. Jasmine and Rose teas are very nice too.

Send me an e-mail at info@blueearthtea.com and let me know what type of gift you would like.

Ok, back to the Kitchen. I may be spending more time in here, as my entire family has decided to do a Health Challenge for the next 6 months. If we all meet the challenge (sounds better that loosing weight) then we will take a special trip! I need some high protein foods. Any ideas? and don't say "ants"! lol
