Jamaican Jerk Chicken

This is one of our all-time favorite recipes! I saved it from a newsgroup or forum posting years ago, but was recently told it was from the cookbook, "The Sugar Reef Carribean Cookbook," by Devra Dedeaux. See the Amazon link to the right to learn more about the cookbook (used copies should be available).
1 tablespoon Ground allspice
1 tablespoon Dried thyme
1 1/2 teaspoons Cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons Freshly ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons Ground sage
3/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons Garlic powder or fresh
1 tablespoon Sugar
1/4 cup Olive oil
1/4 cup Soy sauce
3/4 cup White Vinegar
1/2 cup Orange juice
1 Lime juice
1 Scotch bonnet pepper (habanero)
3 Green onions -- finely chopped
1 cup Onion -- finely chopped
4 to 6 chicken breasts

Holy, I can't find the chicken for all those spices ... how many tums do you take before hand ... lol ...... actually though, it sounds delicious, that is alot of ingredients, oh my, my cooking & baking skills are very limited, that recipe looks like alot of work, but then so is a blueberry cake, lmao, ... I'm moving in with you, snow and all, it sounds worth it .....

Ok there sweetie neatie...but the winters are very loooonnngggg..thats why the difficult recipies..I have plenty of time...lol.....soon the snow banks will be at least 5ft!....probably more, Im just giving it credit...lol

What is a "Nice Red Stripe" ... I can only imagine it must be a drink? Is it? No it goes with the chicken, must be rice ... hmmm .... maybe it is a special potatoe, a salad ... okay, it's not dessert ... do tell ... I am lost ... oh my

Well how about that now ... it was a drink ... Beer ... and looks absolutely perfect to go with that spicy chicken ... you sure know all the tricks don't you Kate ... if you come to my house, lol, I could offer you ... hmmm let me see ... When it comes to seafood I can do well, everything else is pretty ordinary. So we would have escargots in garlic butter of course, seafood chowder, complete with haddock, shrimp, lobster, lobster paste, scallops, potatoes, celery, onions, butter & milk & creme, spinach salad with real mushrooms & bacon with an oil & vinegar dressing, french bread, and white wine .... and when it comes to dessert, well you are on your own .... but with all of that, we wouldn't need dessert, however, I would urge you to bring your blueberry cake .. yum ....

Do you like seafood? Perhaps you don't ...

DONT!...I love seafood!...its my absolute favorite. Chinese my favorite foods!...just found a new dish "crispy shrimp with orange peel"...oh my god its so wonderful!
no snails
no oysters...
dont do those at all
but anything else with seafood IM there!....WHEN WHEN WHEN!!!!!!..lol

OMG - good eye lady!..no pun indended...lol
We have hi jacked the thread!...thats not very nice.....
so any way, the orange is a subtile flavor just adds a nice flavor to the sauce...similiar to General Tso Chicken in flavor but with coated shrimps.
I once had a seafood fest...oh that was a good one, everything from the sea, and the leftovers went to chowder to die for!...lol.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaah Sharon's coming, LE's getting her cake, yummy sounding food, can't wait. WTG, much better than the bugs. Bring the cake Sharon, cook up the chicken Kate, the recipe sounds good, keep on cooking. I'm lovin' it.
